While many see YouTube just as an entertainment or educational portal, there’s a select class of individuals who see it as a goldmine, and today we’ll be taking a look at some of the top paid Youtubers; in particular, the “10 Top Paid Youtubers.”

Income: $2.5 million

Rosanna Pansino has the nerdiest and most popular baking channel on YouTube. Her “Nerdy Nummies” channel puts a nerdy spin on normal recipes. She creates cakes based on video games and sci-fi treats.

Income:  $2.5 million

Roman Atwood has been posting prank videos on the site since 2009 and was recently dubbed YouTube’s “most appalling prankster”. He’s pretended to kill his own toddler twice, just to film his girlfriend’s reaction.

Lilly Singh aka Superwoman, does everything from comedy sketches to music videos on her one-woman YouTube channelHer popularity has seen her feature celebrities such as popstar Selena Gomez.

7. Michelle Phan

Michelle Phan has turned make-up and beauty tutorials into a real mega business and has recently raised $100m in funding for her make-up delivery service Ipsy. Her most popular uploads are instructions on how to properly apply make-up to transform into popstars like Lady Gaga or how to get a Barbie look (has got more than 62m views)

Olajide Olatunji aka KSI, played EA Sports’ line of FIFA video games for hours on end in his parents’ home. He began uploading footage of himself playing and commentating in 2009, under the username KSIOlajidebt: a combination of a Halo franchise clan, his first name, and “British Telecom.” He’s branched out into music and has a clothing business.

Rhett McLaughlin and Charles Lincoln Neal III aka Rhett and Link, are best known for making hilarious music videos, sketches and commercials for real companies like Red House Furniture and Ojai Valley Taxidermy. Many of their videos have gotten sponsorship from big brands.

4. Lindsey Stirling

Income: $6 million

Lindsey Stirling started posting her videos to YouTube in 2007 as a result of not getting signed to a big record label. The classically trained violinist has become known for her violin renditions of hip-hop songs. She has collaborated with some of music’s biggest acts and has even been contracted to perform music for video games such as Zelda and Halo.

Brooklyn natives and real-life brothers Benny and Rafi Fine, have turned their React videos into a massive business venture. They film people’s responses to watching viral things. They have been sponsored by both Ford and Comedy Central.

Smosh is a comedy duo consisting of YouTube veterans Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla. Smosh was the pioneer of YouTube comedy. They  have opened up multiple channels and have an app for their content.

Income: $12 million

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjelberg aka PewDiePie, tops the list of the top paid Youtubers. His videos show him commentating on the various video games he plays.  His most popular video entitled A Funny Montage has been viewed more than 70m times. Although his style of commentary is full of expletives, it’s his relationship with his army of followers (known as Bros) that has catapulted him to success.

The very first list of the 10 top paid Youtubers was released by Forbes in October 2015. The minimum requirement to make the top paid Youtubers list was quoted at $2.5 million in pretax earnings in the year ending June 1, 2015. They pulled the data from Nielsen, IMDB, interviews with agents, managers, lawyers, industry insiders and the stars themselves.
