Brian Njogu On Scopegater’s History

Hey there, my name is Brian Njogu and I’m the founder of Scopegater. Let me begin by saying that it’s my passion for business and writing that saw me put pen on paper and alas it was Happy Birthday Scopegater!’

My number one motive behind starting Scopegater was to try and create a channel for Motivating Young Entrepreneurs To Take Action (Young entrepreneurs can also mean those who are young at heart) and follow their dreams.  This is via the following categories located within this awesome blog:

  1. About Business-Here you’ll find various topics that concern the running of a successful business i.e. Business Finance, Business Location, Business Matters, Business Plan and Marketing.
  2. E-CaféReal life stories about successful entrepreneurs.
  3. E-Tips-Here you’ll find a bunch of entrepreneurship tips.
  4. Entrepreneurship-Here you’ll find what it means and takes to become an entrepreneur as well as what entrepreneurship involves.
  5. Make Money-Here you’ll find legitimate and proven ways of making money.
  6. Motivation-Here you’ll find motivating real life stories about extra-ordinary people who’ve had a positive impact on society and motivational facts and anything else that I deem motivational from an entrepreneur’s point of view 🙂
  7. Random-As the name implies, you’ll find random posts about random but relevant things.
  8. Smart Quotes-Inspirational quotes from successful people.

Let me however say I’m not a guru when it comes to entrepreneurship. I’d instead like to regard myself as a student who’s always learning new things every day though I’ll definitely share with you what I learn.

I must say the hardest part for me when setting up Scopegater was coming up with a name and though you might think I’m joking, it really took me a couple of days to finally settle on Scopegater after realizing that all the other names I wanted to pick were unavailable i.e. Spyscope, Eyescope and Myscope.

I basically wanted to come up with a domain name that contained the word Scope which means an opportunity and that’s why I settled on Scopegater. Here’s a better explanation of my blog’s name.

Scope means:

1) The range of one’s perceptions, thoughts or actions.

2) Opportunity to function.

3) The extent of the area or subject matter that something deals with or to which it is relevant.

4) To look at carefully; scan.

Gater: It’s a synonym for alligator. The following facts about an alligator made me pick it:

1) They can see underwater-This tells us that we too should see our dreams clearly irrespective of the environment/ situation we may be in.

2) They are fearless and strong-We also need to be fearless and strong.

3) They strike with precision and at the right moment when hunting-We should also learn how to take hold of opportunities at the right time before they slip through our fingers.

So there you have it, the whole process of how Scopegater came to be. Feel free to look around and don’t forget to leave your comments.

P.S: Don’t forget to share what you like with family and friends!

P.S.S: Thanks for passing by Scopegater!
