With her strong interpersonal skills, her ability to sell, and her passion for fashion, she no doubt excelled in this role.

However, when the opportunity presented itself for her long-term partner, Virgil van Dijk, to join Celtic Football Club in 2013, Rike Nooitgedagt made the difficult decision to resign from her job and accompany him to Glasgow, Scotland.

In the end, she had to leave her job to follow her man to Glasgow where he played for the Celtics.

In 2014 Rike gave birth to the couple’s first child and first daughter, Nila van Dijk, as Virgil Van Dijk received his national side’s first-ever call-up. 

Van Dijk had arranged for his then-girlfriend to have the birth induced so he wouldn’t miss the arrival of his daughter.

Though his debut in the national team didn’t happen then, it came later on in 2015 when he joined Southampton. His national team at the time was playing against Kazakhstan.
