In case you might be wondering why I settled on writing a post about iWriter, the answer is quite simple:

I’ve used it in the past and still do once in a while so rest assured this iWriter review is from one of its members and not from someone who just wants to drive traffic to their blog.

How iWriter Works-Make Money Writing Articles

(Before I get into the nitty gritty of using iWriter to make money writing articles online, let me first make it clear that iWriter is COMPLETELY FREE TO JOIN for both writers and clients-YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY ANYONE A SINGLE DIME!

You can think of it as a riskless money making venture where the only cost is a few minutes of your time 🙂

The primary goal of iWriter is to bridge the gap between clients and writers by:

  1. Giving clients a platform through which they can order for articles.
  2. Giving writers a platform through which they can write articles and get paid.

Let’s now look at how iWriter works in more detail.

The Clients At iWriter

This comprises of both businesses and individuals who want articles for their various sites. If my memory serves me right, clients are required to deposit a minimum of $3 into their iWriter account before ordering articles.

The Writers At iWriter

These are people who have the ability to write and want to make money writing articles. Currently, there are 3 types of writers in iWriter namely:

  1. Standard Writer (Everyone starts here)
  2. Premium Writer
  3. Elite Writer

It’s important to also note that clients are the ones who rate writers in iWriter so you better make sure to give it your best if you want to rise from a standard writer to an elite writer. In the table below, you’ll see the BASIC earnings for each type of writer.

Apart from writing articles, iWriter also provides writers with the option of:

  • Writing E-Books-The pay can range anywhere from $100 to $500 or even more.
  • Doing Rewrites-You are provided with an article to re-write a bit differently from the original one e.g. spinning.

I’m now going to share with you the pros and cons of using iWriter as a medium of making money online.

Pros Of Using iWriter To Make Money Writing Articles Online

  • It’s FREE to register either as a writer or a client.
  • There are no registration tests- Simply register, start writing articles and wait for the money to be deposited into your iWriter account
  • Clients are given only 3 days (72 hours) to either accept or reject a submitted article. If 72 hours pass without the client having accepted or rejected your article, then the amount (price of the article) is automatically deposited into your iWriter account.
  • There’s no bidding of articles-You simply pick one in regard to your rank, write it, submit it, then wait for the money to be deposited into your iWriter account hoping it gets accepted.
  • If you’re really good in writing articles, you’ll get special requests from clients and guess what? They pay more than the basic price per article + you can also get tips every now and then.
  • It’s easy to use

Cons Of Using iWriter To Make Money Writing Articles Online

  • If your article is rejected, you’ll never know why-This means the client may genuinely reject your article or he/she may con you by falsely rejecting it only to use it later on. This is the major drawback I’ve seen while using iWriter as a writer.

What You’ll Need In Order To Make Money Writing Articles For iWriter

Before registering as a writer in iWriter, you need to know that they pay via PayPal ALONE!

If you are living in Kenya and don’t know how to register for a PayPal account, then these posts will help you know how to go about registering for a PayPal account in Kenya.

Let Me Show You A Trick You Can Use If You Don’t Currently Have A PayPal Account

1) On iWriter’s registration page which looks something like this (see the image below), enter your primary email address (make sure it’s your own personal email)

3) Once you’re in your profile page, go to the lower left area to a section called “EDIT PAYMENT INFO”. Enter the email you’d like to use as your PayPal email (My advice would be to use your primary email account but make sure it’s safe i.e. you’re not sharing it with anyone else). Please note that your PayPal email address can be different from the one you used during registration in iWriter e.g. My registration email address and my PayPal email address are different. Now put a large figure as the minimum withdrawal amount e.g. $1,000.

The main reason why I’m advising you to put a large amount in the “MINIMUM AMOUNT SECTION” is because irrespective of the payment plan/method you’ve chosen in iWriter (there are 4 payment plans/methods i.e. every Tuesday, every other Wednesday, every month on the 5th and every month on the 25th), you shall never get paid until it reaches the threshold that you’ve set as the “MINIMUM AMOUNT”.

This means that if you currently don’t have a PayPal account, you can still write articles and get paid (please note that when your article is accepted, the payment is not sent to your PayPal account but it’s instead credited into your iWriter account from which iWriter credits into your PayPal account once you’ve reached your set “MINIMUM AMOUNT” threshold). In the meantime, you can apply for a PayPal account.

Caution: Make sure that the email address you use in your iWriter account (as your PayPal email address) is the same one you use to register for a PayPal account with.

For those who are planning to sign up with multiple writer accounts in iWriter using the same IP, let me advise you to DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FORGET ABOUT IT!

The system will record your two accounts and sometimes when you log into one of your accounts or when you’re submitting a finished article, you’ll instead end up getting the message below:

Sorry, you’ve logged into iWriter with too many accounts

If you were in the process of submitting an article and you get this message and maybe you had like 10-15 minutes left, then there’s a risk that you’ll fail in submitting it hence lose getting paid. This means you’ll have wasted your precious time writing that article.

Just do yourself a favor and register with ONLY ONE iWRITER ACCOUNT! (This is from experience)

  1. When writing an article to promote your site, you need to ensure that the content is entertaining to a reader. Keep your writing style similar to your niche. Even if you happen to be writing about a very technical topic, take the edge off of it by introducing the information in layman’s terms. Do not alienate your readers with boring content.”

You don’t have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    1. Thanks Alex!

I can say from experience that the 403 error is related to your Internet Service Provider.

iWriter can’t be accessed using some ISP’s BUT the good news is that you can install Hotspot Shield
      (http://www.hotspotshield.com/) and bypass the “ban”.

You’ll have the option to use the free version or you can invest $29.95 for the Elite version.

    1. please help me .How to write the article on iwriter step by step. how to write the introduction, body of article and conclusion.please help me and give response.

    1. If you already have a PayPal account, then there’s no need. But if you don’t have a PayPal account, you can start writing and have the $1000 minimum so that you get enough time to open a PayPal account. The $1000 minimum will ensure iWriter holds your money i.e. they won’t transfer the funds to your non-existing PayPal account.. You can even put $1500, $2000 etc.

      1. How do I start writing in iWriter? I have signed up. But where do I start writing? There’s no link or box to post the articles. I can view the articles requested to be written. But where do I write them? :'(

Sorry if I am missing something damn obvious!
Do I have to pay them $147? Is that the only way I can start writing on iWriter?

        1. Ahem!! please dont kill yourself after understanding this… There on the page where you see the tasks at the right corner near the task heading there is a small + signs which is a drop down To write the article and read the instrcutions<<< Eureka?? Hmm..?? Okay Further, the drop down will reveal things which you must understand on your own, even paying $147 wont help. Yes.. Really

  5. The biggest problem I have with iwriter is the payment option. PayPal is very restrictive when it comes to recieving payments. In a lot of countries they will allow you to open an account and even make online payments. The problem is they will not allow you to receive payments. Usually, for the same countries, they do not allow merchants to register. I am in one such country. This means you can only use your earnings to make purchases from forreign merchants. This is a big problem. Going forward iwriter should avail more payment options like Skrill and Payoneer so that those that cant access their payments via PayPal have other options. Otherwise, iwriter is a decent platform.

  6. Hello guys,

I have worked on iWriter since 2015 and was fortunate to land a client that kept sending me special requests and rating my submissions 5 stars every time. This helped me to work my way up to Elite Plus stats, but even at higher ranks, there are hardly any good jobs (that is from requesters with high approval rating). In fact, I’ve read from other blogs reviewing iwriter that those hundreds of Premium, and Elite jobs you see as a standard writer consists of private requests that won’t actually be visible upon reaching higher ranks.

Anyway, when my ‘angel’ requester ran out of projects, I started picking jobs on the main pool/queue. That’s when my worst nightmares began. Despite only picking articles from requesters with more than 75% approval rating, clear instructions and topics I’m conversant with, I have had requesters reject good articles citing a false reason only to find my content published online a couple of weeks later. Some requesters send back your submission as a re-write request but they ask you to cancel the article because they don’t want to leave a rejection & bad rating yet they still publish the canceled article anyway and you don’t get paid. The worst part is that iWriter support sometimes ignores such complaints and let rogue requests go scot-free without even so much as a warning. If you are lucky, a rogue requester will have their account banned but still the bad feedback and low rating left on your profile won’t be removed.

I love this platform and have earned a lot from it in the past, but it’s slowly gaining a bad reputation.
