How Social Spark’s Sponsored Review Program Works
I believe by now we are all aware about what Social Spark is so I’ll go ahead and tell you guys how its sponsored review program works. If for one reason or the other you haven’t been able to read my previous article on “What Is Social Spark” or you don’t have a clear idea as to what it’s all about, then I highly suggest that you first take a detour to that post as you will get to learn what it is that we are talking about hence you will be able to make sense of how Social Spark’s sponsored review program works.
Assuming that now we’re all on the same page, let me say that this review on how Social Spark’s sponsored review program works, is written from a bloggers point of view (i.e. a publishers perspective) and not from an advertisers point of view. This is because I have personally used Social Spark as a publisher and not as an advertiser so my apologies to any would be advertisers for now.
With that out of the way, I believe it’s time we looked at how Social Spark’s sponsored review program works.
How Social Spark’s Sponsored Review Program Works
Once you login to your Social Spark account (Register for your FREE account) you’ll be taken to your dashboard where you’ll see your Current, Taken and Canceled Offers. The diagram below illustrates what I mean.
In addition to looking at your Current, Taken and Canceled offers, you’ll also have the option of looking at your Deals, Ads and Account information as you can see from the tabs in the diagram above. Below we’ll look at how Social Spark’s sponsored review program works in relation to these three tabs.
Deals
This is more like affiliate marketing in that you get paid a commission for selling a product. You only need to pick the deals you’re comfortable with (i.e. similar to your blogs niche), get the code and finally paste the code on your blog. The next diagram shows an example of a deal I have in my Social Spark account.
Ads/IZEA Media Ads
Although it’s in its early stages, IZEA Media is a blog advertising network that is intended to compliment Social Spark’s sponsored review program. This program though similar to other Ad displaying programs like Google AdSense has a twist to it in that it helps bloggers to increase their chances of sponsorship opportunities when in the near future they start selling them as packages.
Account
This option allows you to edit important details of your Social Spark sponsored review account i.e.
- Edit your contact information e.g. Username and PayPal information.
- Edit your Properties e.g. blog details like verifying your Google Analytics.
- Look at your earned points (Every 100 points=$1) as well as funds that have been cashed out.
- Look at your referral status e.g. how many people you have referred, your affiliate link and banners.
- Choose which brands you are interested in working with from their broad inventory e.g. Coca Cola, Nike etc.
Social Spark’s Sponsored Review Program: How To Write Sponsored Reviews
If you’ve been keen you’ll notice that I haven’t written about any “Write Sponsored Review” tab and this is because the Social Spark sponsored review program doesn’t have such an obvious option. They have instead used the Lead term to refer to their Sponsored reviews i.e. if you want to write a sponsored review then you simply need to go to your dashboard (where you go after you login or home page if you like) and see if there are any offers available to you. If there are then you can take the offer but if there aren’t then you can check at a later time.
If you take a sponsored review offer then you’ll have to wait for the advertiser to get back to you with the details e.g. how many points you will get (remember 100 points =$1). When they get back to you and you’re okay with the terms then you can write the review and wait for the cash to come strolling into your Social Spark account from where you will transfer it to your PayPal account.
NB: A DEAL is an affiliate offer while an OFFER is a sponsored review offer
I’ll for now end this post on how Social Spark’s sponsored review program works till next time when we shall look at “How To Make Money With Social Spark’s Sponsored Reviews”, you’ll definitely not want to miss that.
