3 Steps On How To Sign Up For A Google AdSense Account
Last time we looked at What Is Google AdSense And How Google AdSense Works so today we’ll look at how to sign up for a Google AdSense account as a continuation of our topic on Google AdSense and how to make money from Google AdSense.
Before we go ahead and look at the steps involved in Google AdSense sign up, let me say that anyone who has a blog should really think about having a Google AdSense account since Google AdSense can be a great way to help your blog generate more passive income which you can use to cater for your various demands. I hope that the Google AdSense sign up steps we shall look at will be of great benefit to anyone who’s looking for a way to get a Google AdSense account and boost their blogs revenue.
NB: In order to be precise on the steps involved in Google AdSense Sign Up, I’ll base this short tutorial on how I submitted my Google AdSense Account application form so rest assured I’ll not be making anything up but rather giving you the right info on Google AdSense sign up.
The 3 Steps Involved In Google AdSense Sign Up; Signing Up For A Google AdSense Account
Step 1: Select A Google Account
The first thing you’ll want to do is visit the Official Google AdSense Sign Up Page where you’ll be prompted to select a Google Account which will be used for your Google AdSense account. You’ll be given the option to sign in with an existing Google Account or to create a new Google Account.
NB: The Google Account that you submit will be the one you’ll use to log into your Google AdSense account.

Step 2: Informing Google About Your Content
The next step involves telling Google about the type of content that you want to monetize and this step includes:
- Giving Google the primary URL of your website e.g. www.nameofyoursite.com.
- Informing Google about the primary language of your website.

Step 3: Submitting your Google AdSense Account Application
The third and final step for Google AdSense sign up involves:
- Stating your country.
- Choosing an account type between Individual and Business options (There’s no difference in the services or payment structure between Individual and Business accounts. Business account payments are made payable to the Company Name while Individual accounts are paid out to the Payee Name of the account holder).
- Stating a payee name which MUST match the full name on your bank account.
- Giving your street address.
- Stating the city/town that you live in.
- Giving your phone number.
- Telling them about how you heard of Google AdSense.
- Choosing your email preference i.e. what Google should email you.
NB: Make sure to provide true and accurate information since Google will use this information to not only set up your Google AdSense account but to also send you your Google AdSense earnings.

Requirements For Google AdSense Sign Up; Signing Up For A Google AdSense Account
- You need to have a Google Account-This requires you to be at least 18 years old and have a verified Google Account to sign up for a Google AdSense Account.
- You need to have content to monetize-This requires you to have a website or other content that is compliant with Google’s program policies.
- You need to have a postal address-They will ask you to submit a mailing address at which you receive your bank statements.
NB: You will not be able to sign up for a Google AdSense account without a valid postal address.
Google AdSense Program Policies That You Should Know About When Signing Up For A Google AdSense Account
The below are the 5 main Google AdSense program policies that you will be asked to agree with when signing up for a Google AdSense Account:
- I will not click on my ads nor encourage others to do so.
- I will not place ads on sites that include adult content, including pornography.
- I will not place ads on sites involved in the distribution of copyrighted materials.
- I do not already have a Google AdSense account.
- I will not place ads on sites that include incentives to click on ads.
